Welcome to the blog "Journey with brush"

Welcome to the blog "Journey with brush".

I have started painting since my childhood but when I reached graduation level I left it due to various reasons. But suddenly last year (2009) I got the inner call to restart.

Some of my friends, colleagues & relatives appreciated my paintings & encouraged to continue with my painting. They often ask me to show them my latest paintings. So, I decided to create this blog to display my work to them who love, adore & appreciate painting. I would also expect genuine feedback as my journey with brush will continue as well as my learning process.

Thank you for visiting the blog "Journey with brush".

Rainforest

Rainforests are characterized by the high rainfall. Rainforests are the habitats of most of the species of the world including plants, animals, birds, insects & microorganisms etc. Rainforests are called as the "jewel of the earth". So, somehow this jewel of the earth has fascinated me to capture them on paper.

I have used oil pastel & paper for this painting. I am not very much comfortable with oil pastel. So, your expert opinions, suggestions & feedbacks are most welcome.

Painting green, and above all the many different shades of green of a forest, is a very difficult task... but you accomplished it in a brilliant manner, D.D.! Congratulation!

I have worked with oil pastel some and I think you did an excellent job on this piece. To get this kind of fine detail is not that easy to do. The composition is well done and the use of color for depth of field is excellent.

Nice sense of depth, silence of the forest. I have not worked in this technique but this painting is very nice, I like it.
